The Fifth Khatwa Forum
The Happy Homes Association for Culture and Development organized, for the fifth consecutive year, the “Khatwa” Forum for University Major Selection on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at the Es’ad Al-Tufula Theater. The forum primarily targeted General Secondary Education students and secondary school students in general. It was supported and funded by the Palestinian E-Projects Platform and Infinity for Advertising and Design.
The forum was inaugurated by Ms. Sana Dweik, Vice President of the Association, who welcomed the attending students and guests, as well as the participating universities represented by booths at the forum. She also thanked the staff and organizing committee and emphasized that the forum is part of the Association’s efforts to promote community awareness among all members of society.
The forum aims to engage community stakeholders in helping students set their priorities when choosing university majors and to raise their awareness through an educational day featuring talks and discussions with speakers and academics from various fields. The forum seeks to broaden students’ options and perspectives and help them make more informed and well-considered choices of university majors in line with the needs of their country.
The program featured a number of sessions, including “Know Yourself to Determine Your Path,” presented by Dr. Rashid Arar; “What They Didn’t Tell Me About University,” presented by Dr. Asmaa Al-Sharbati; and “University Information Capsule,” presented by Dr. Wael Ahreiz and Mr. Assem Al-Qawasmi. Representatives of local universities were also present, including Hebron University, Palestine Polytechnic University, and Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, Al-Arroub Branch, giving students the opportunity to learn about the majors offered and the advantages of studying at these universities.
Gifts were also presented to participating students by Infinity Printing, Al-Muhandis Electronics, and Al-Natsheh Bags. The Association extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to all of them for their support.
The Association seeks to continue organizing the “Khatwa” Forum annually so that the largest possible number of students can benefit from it, through cooperation with public and private educational institutions. It also extends its thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to and supported the success of this year’s forum.
