The Seventh Khatwa Forum

The Happy Homes Association for Culture and Development organized the Seventh “Khatwa” Forum for University Major Selection on Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Es’ad Al-Tufula Theater. The forum primarily targeted General Secondary Education students, as well as secondary school students in general.

The forum was inaugurated by the President of the Association, Ms. Suhair Hassouna, who welcomed the students, guests, and participating universities, and thanked the Association’s staff and organizing committee. She emphasized that the forum comes as part of the Association’s mission to promote community awareness. This was followed by remarks from Eng. Safaa Abu Khorsheeq, Director of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Office in Hebron.

The forum aims to support students in setting their priorities when choosing university majors and to raise their awareness through an educational day featuring talks and discussions with speakers and academics from different fields. The sessions were designed to broaden students’ options and perspectives and help them make more informed choices about their university majors in line with their abilities and the needs of their country.

The forum featured a number of sessions, including “Tips for University Life,” presented by Dr. Asmaa Al-Sharbati, followed by the main session, “How to Choose a University Major,” presented by Eng. Nadeem Abu Khalaf. The forum also hosted Dr. Bilal Al-Shoubaki in a session titled “The Influence of Society on Choosing a University Major,” moderated by Dr. Wael Al-Hareez.

The program also featured a number of inspiring experiences, including a session with Eng. Mustafa Tmeizi on the importance of studying agricultural majors, followed by an experience shared by pharmacist Tasneem Rajoub about studying pharmacy and the labor market. Another inspiring experience was presented by Shahd Imam, a founding member of the Teamak Events Management Team. The forum also included an entertainment segment presented by Fatima Mashaala.

The Association seeks to continue organizing the “Khatwa” Forum annually to benefit the largest possible number of students through cooperation with public and private educational institutions. The Association also extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to and supported the success of this year’s forum.
