The Tenth Khatwa Forum for University Major Selection

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, the Happy Homes Association for Culture and Development organized the Tenth Khatwa Forum for University Major Selection, held at the Es’ad Al-Tufula Theater. The forum primarily targeted General Secondary Education students, as well as secondary school students in general.

The forum was inaugurated by the President of the Association, Ms. Suhair Hassouna, who welcomed the students, guests, and participating universities that had set up information booths at the forum. She expressed her appreciation to the Association’s staff and organizing committee and emphasized that the forum is part of the Association’s mission to promote community awareness.

This was followed by remarks from Eng. Safaa Abu Khorsheeq, Director of the Education and Higher Education Office, and Mr. Atef Al-Jamal, Director of the Directorate of Education, in the presence of members of the Hebron Municipal Council.

The forum aims to mobilize community resources and support students in identifying their priorities when choosing university majors. It also seeks to raise students’ awareness through a full educational day featuring talks and discussions with speakers and academics from different fields. These sessions were designed to broaden students’ choices and horizons, expand their perspectives, and help them make more informed and thoughtful decisions about their university majors while taking the needs and priorities of their country into consideration.

The forum featured a variety of sessions, beginning with “Majors Inspire Us with Knowledge, and Skills Inspire Us with Opportunities,” presented by Dr. Asmaa Al-Sharbati.

This was followed by “From Seed to Success: An Inspiring Experience in Agriculture,” presented by Eng. Mo’men Amr, and “How Do I Choose My University Major?”, presented by Eng. Nadeem Abu Khalaf.

The forum also hosted Ms. Nada Shaheen in a session titled “When You Create Your Own Opportunity,” followed by “A Journey of Achievement: From Khatwa to an Inspiring Teacher,” presented by Mr. Majd Allama.

The sessions concluded with “How Do I Prepare to Receive My General Secondary Education Results?”, presented by Mr. Mohammad Badr.

The participating universities also delivered introductory presentations about their institutions. At the conclusion of the university exhibition held alongside the forum, the President of the Association and members of the Board of Directors honored the participating universities:

- Al-Quds Open University
- Palestine Polytechnic University
- Hebron University
- Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie
- Smart University College
- Dar Al-Kalima University

The Association seeks to continue organizing the Khatwa Forum annually to ensure that the largest possible number of students benefit from this initiative, through continued cooperation with public and private educational institutions.

The Happy Homes Association for Culture and Development extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s forum and gratefully acknowledges the support of its sponsors: Hoor Sweets, iPhone Man, Juice Time, Hebron Snacks, Mashhour Restaurant Chain, Al-Noor “Injaz” Company, and Al-Kurd Mall.
