The Happy Homes Association for Culture and Development was established in 2005, on the initiative of women from a group of community women in addition to academic women from the city of Hebron. This association is mainly concerned with the family by focusing its attention on women and children as the two most important pillars in it. The association focuses on adopting children and family issues in the Palestinian society, by ensuring to achieve a better level in building its programs in a manner linked to the goals of sustainable development, through the accumulation of experience in working with the target groups. It provides educational and training awareness services to women and children in particular and the Palestinian family in general through distinguished programmes, projects and activities implemented by a specialized staff. Association Programs: Extracurricular Education Program: ● The Happy Homes Children's Library, where the library offers many educational and recreational activities for children free of charge through specialized supervisors, in addition to the possibility for children to benefit from the distinguished books provided by the library in its two branches: (Al-Ahawar Library and the Old Town Library). ● Summer and winter camps, where the camps are implemented during the summer and winter vacations, by holding these camps that contain many educational, developmental and recreational activities for children of both sexes by a cadre of specialized supervisors. ● Holding various courses, which aim to provide children with various skills and knowledge such as chess, programming, Arabic calligraphy and other skills. ● Entertainment activities, where the association organizes many recreational days during the year for children, in which a group of interesting paragraphs are presented to children during the day in order to deliver an educational or awareness message through various activities for children and their families. Youth Education Program: Small Hands Forum for Raising Children: This forum targets parents and kindergarten and primary school teachers in order to provide them, through lectures and workshops, with the most important scientific principles in modern education, with the aim of contributing to the upbringing of a conscious generation that carries many principles and morals. A step forum for choosing a university specialization: which targets high school students and their families with the aim of helping them, through a full training day, to choose their university majors based on their capabilities, desires, and capabilities in a way that meets the needs and aspirations of the country. Happy Homes Forum: which aims to educate young couples. It is a training program targeting those who are about to get married and engaged in addition to newly married couples, as they are provided with the basic skills and knowledge required to start a happy married life and build a family in a healthy way. Economic Empowerment Program: The Happy Homes Kitchen project, which was established in 2006 with the aim of providing job opportunities for women in the city of Hebron and providing traditional homemade dishes in a healthy way. School canteens guarantee project, where the association includes school canteens with the aim of creating job opportunities for women, and providing healthy food for students in schools. Happy Homes Center for Family and Psychological Counseling: The Happy Homes Center for Psychological and Family Counseling, the center was established based on the community’s need for support, counseling, and psychological treatment services. The psychologists are highly qualified and have long experience, keen on professional honesty and ethical commitment. The association also offers many cultural and recreational events during the year, such as health awareness, sports education, introductory tours of archaeological and historical monuments, and recreational trips.
